Krish Bhatnagar
Krish Bhatnagar wrote The Merlion Who Forgot at thirteen, during the summer before eighth grade.
It began as a school assignment — his geography class was asked to write a children’s book about a country. He chose Singapore, where his mother was born and where his family returns as often as they can. What started as a project became a 64-page illustrated book, a year of research, and a small publishing house.
Krish lives in Maryland. His favourite subject is computer science, especially Python, and he reads a great deal of fiction. He is currently working on the second book in Leo’s World Adventures.
Singapore is part of who I am. My mom was born in Singapore and is Singaporean, which makes me half-Singaporean too. We go back often, and we celebrate Singapore’s National Day at the Singapore Embassy. I wanted to share the country I love with other kids who may never have seen it. — from the Author’s Note
